In addition to performances of great music, Rochester Symphony is committed to providing music education that will bring appreciation and enjoyment of classical music to future generations. With a range of programs available—from family concerts to performances for public school classrooms—we bring great music to life for people of all ages.
Young Artist Showcase (previously Playing with the Pros) is an audition-based program that provides an opportunity for advanced music students to perform a solo with the Rochester Symphony.
Students work with their music instructor to prepare a recorded audition. Selected participants will receive coaching from the Rochester Symphony conductor and concertmaster in preparation for their performance.
The audition is open to advanced pre-college music students upon recommendation of their private teacher. Students will be selected based on strong technical skill and musicianship.
The Young Artists Showcase 2025/26 concert performance will take place on February 1, 2026
Applications and auditions due October 10, 2025.
