In this concert, nature comes to life in music! Dance with woodland creatures in Dvořák’s Czech Suite, a collection of joyful folk melodies from the forests and meadows of Bohemia. Our Concertmaster Ms. Alexandra Bartoi will dazzle us with her violin as she plays a piece inspired by the culture of Budapest, Hungary (Sarasate’s Zigeunerweisen). Then, Beethoven’s “Pastoral” Symphony takes us deep into the countryside. Learn how composers use instruments to create musical versions of nature’s wonders like thunderstorms, chirping birds, and babbling brooks. It’s a perfect introduction to these classical masterpieces, inspired by the beauty and sounds of the natural world.
Pack your musical bags and get ready for a journey through through music and imagination. Explore the thrilling world of classical storytelling with two memorable masterpieces: Rossini’s playful Overture to The Barber of Seville, and Mendelssohn’s majestic "Scottish" Symphony. From the bustling streets of Italy to the misty highlands of Scotland, the orchestra becomes a storyteller, bringing characters, places, and adventures to life.
