Orchestra Auditions

Rochester Symphony will be holding auditions for the following positions:

June 21, 2025: Principal Trumpet, Trumpet 3/utility, Section Horn, and brass substitute list.

June 22, 2025: Woodwind substitute list

String auditions are being planned for late September, 2025.

Rochester Symphony utilizes a blind audition process to ensure a high level of equity. Candidates will play behind a screen for a panel including the Music Director and several orchestra musicians.

Audition times will be scheduled from 2 to 5pm.
Please submit the following form by June 12 to ensure a spot on the schedule. On June 13, you will receive an email with your scheduled audition time.

Please note if you have any time conflicts on the date of your audition so that a time can be scheduled appropriately (auditions are from 2-5pm):

Musical experience:
(ie. orchestras/bands/choirs, music degree(s)/training, festivals etc.)
Choose the most significant musical experiences. Start with the most recent, giving dates of involvement, where possible.
For Substitute List auditions, a resume or CV may be attached instead.
For Principal Trumpet, Trumpet 3, and Section Horn auditions, a resume or CV is required.
